hi, i m new here and not so good in english, but ive give it a try and hope you understand.. .
the whole idea of the overlapped generation is not only illogical, there are also serious errors in reasoning and how to interpret the scripture.. .
the only "scriptural argument" that the governing body has managed to bring in this matter is exodus 1: 6 where they say that a "generation" can be stretched to cover a longer period than usually meant by a "generation".
*** it-1 p. 28 Abraham ***Family Origin and Early History. Abraham was the tenth generation from Noah through Shem and was born 352 years after the Deluge, in 2018 B.C.E.
(Matthew 1:17) 17 All the generations, then, from Abraham until David were fourteen generations, and from David until the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon until the Christ fourteen generations.
2018 years divided by 42 generations = 48.04 years per generation according to Matthew.... a person who heard Jesus talk about "this generation"......
After Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 CE, did Matthew start thinking,"Hmmmm..... I wonder if Jesus was really thinking back to Joseph's day, maybe this isn't what he was thinking about after all, and maybe it was overlapping generations, and this "destruction" that happened with Jerusalem is wrong?"
70 CE/destruction -33 CE/ Jesus died = 37 years "This generation will not pass AWAY" .....Well, did Jerusalem pass away within 48.04 years? yes

here is the bait:.
as the number of kingdom proclaimers increases and as we near the end of this system of things, there is an urgent need for more facilities.
yesterday, a jwn poster e-mailed me asking if i would post on this discussion board his recent email to steven unthank and also post stevens reply.
the reason for the request is because the poster has need to remain completely anonymous.
i agreed to share the email because i knew you would find stevens reply informative and interesting.. .
Thank you for bumping cultBgone...
What is interesting to me, is that after having seen every minute of that Royal Commission hearing, and all the explanations of WT lawyers, service deskers, anywho-ers saying, "Geoffrey Jackson will be of no use to you", to find out that HE was involved at the beginning of this Steven Unthank thing.... He knew all about it, and sided with the 'Borg.'
How sad, but not unexpected, to have WT lawyers act like cold-hearted, 'we always win', 'you will be nothing' lawyers.
Piece by piece, the evidence shows the WT conglomerates are not spiritual men.
Thank you Steven Unthank for hanging in there!
how many here have been asked the loyalty question by an elder.
i am referring to, "do you believe that jehovah is using the faithful and discreet slave class to accomplish his work?
" or something along this line?.
last night i ran into a former elder friend, he is in his late 70s.
he asked how i was doing and i asked how he was doing.
then out of the blue he tells me; .
I have to agree with problemaddict2.... I think that MOST of the younger "generation" do not know understand or are interested in the old doctrines and intricacies of anything that is complicated or convoluted....
A social club it is...... Especially if they are raised in this psychopathic lifestyle.... Those new kids/ apostates from Canada, who've been making YouTube videos understand the ins and the outs, but I wonder how many really do?

I liked this quote:
"One such group is Jehovah's Witnesses, according to cult expert and counsellor, Raphael Aron, director of cult consulting in Australia, and author of Cults Too Good To Be True. (Harper Collins, Australia 1989); and Cults, Terror and Mind Control. (Bay Tree Publications, California 2007).
Particularly interested in 'shunning', a practice that devalues, humiliates and disfellowships members from their organisation"
today i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.
i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.
sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.
about 4 months back, apostate lon posted a youtube video entitled watchtower society broadcasts pagan symbol.
i try not to believe in conspiracy theories but that symbol just doesn't belong there...hmm.
If you are going to believe in the Bible, you need to ask, 'Why would God need to "change light"?' Give "new" light?
Another scripture says, "Satan is an angel of light"
JWs always wonder, "What "new light" will we get at this year's convention?"

The term "Apostate" is used like a cross to keep evil spirits away.
Having a problem understanding? Can't explain? Don't know how to answer?
Call the source an 'apostate', and everything is all better again. You don't have to think about it anymore. Done..... Gone.....
